Author Biography
Margaret Michel Rivoire
I was born and raised in the bayou country of Louisiana, south of New Orleans. I was the oldest of eight children in a loving family. I was brought up in the Catholic Faith which is still very important to me and gives me boundaries for all that I do.
At age five, the start of WWII began to shape who I would become. Although I did not fully understand what was happening, the reaction of my parents and all those around me made me realize the world I knew was changing. I became curious and would constantly listen to conversations about the war and I took notice of all the ordinary things changing. Things were hard to get. We needed stamps and money to buy them. Family and friends were sent to fight. Nothing was the same.
I became very interested in world, Church, and family history.
As an adult I began to research and compile this knowledge and knew I was to share it. I began to teach. Platforms were all around me. I told stories to family and friends; taught in schools and at church; worked with Boy and Girl Scouts; Presented programs for various clubs and organizations; and wrote articles for their publications. Having recently retired, I am now writing books to continue sharing what I have learned.
